Eat Paint Series
Eat Paint – Painted Skate Deck Series
The Eat Paint series was the second run of painted skateboard decks, following the Pink Moon series. Unlike Pink Moon, it became the first to gain wider attention online. Promoted through Instagram and boosted ads, the decks drew strong reactions and were picked up by many of the early supporters who still follow Kaba today. For many, Eat Paint is remembered as the “first” true series.
The name references Vincent van Gogh, who was said to have eaten paint during his darker periods. While the visuals don’t imitate his style, the work drew heavily on the raw emotion in his story. Each deck was painted while living in an attic in Colorado, during the early days of shaping what Kaba Skateboards would become.
Eat Paint stands as one of the first milestones in Kaba’s history, the series that turned quiet painting sessions into a growing community.
