Zurc - Memories of Times Forgotten

Wed, June 29th.

Repeating what I said yesterday, Tuesday and Wednesday are my days off. I sleep in. When I wake up though, I scour Youtube for music. Today I found this song by Zurc and it's a bop.

It's repetition builds and the synths flow in and out. It reminds me of Pretty Lights for some reason.

The goal for today is to stare at my website and see what could be worked on. I also need to eat lunch.

Before I started this post, I was out in Denver grabbing kratom from a friend of mine. I say friend but he's really my best friend. We used to live with each other. I couldn't pay him for the kratom so I ended up helping him put fence posts in the ground and clearing away an old tree. It was good to connect and talk, he's awesome.

While working, someone placed a pretty good size order for skate decks so thank you for doing that *********** ******** you're my hero.

Mmm alright well yesterday I ended up doing a bit of SEO work with my partner. We put together a list of search terms that are popular in the skate world, search terms like "8.25 skate deck" and "painted skate decks" seem to be popular.

I might actually be confusing SEO with Google ads/analytics. I'm about to do some new advertising with Google and those search terms are things I'll be looking to advertise on.

Besides the SEO stuff and the Google ads, I went and changed the names of my skate decks in the hopes a small rebranding would be beneficial. I changed the name of every deck in the Emotions collection and so far it's been good. I got a few orders I wasn't expecting, namely the one mentioned earlier. Not sure if there's a connection between the renaming and these orders but I'd like to think so.

I've decided I should start focusing the other blog (/blogs/kaba) to help with SEO searches. My partner suggested that I make posts about specific skateboard questions like "how to clean grip tape" or "what size board should I get" so that's something I can work on. Drawings included.

Finally, I was listening to this video about Virgil Abloh and his recommendations when starting a brand. He talks about the importance of focusing your brand on specific themes rather than just trying to brand what makes you the individual. An example given was the brand HYPLAND and how the creator was trying to focus his brand on multiple elements that excite him. Virgil explained the importance of narrowing your themes down. Here's the video if you're interested...

Anyways, that's enough for the today. Take it easy!
