Simon Farintosh - Flim (Aphex Twin for guitar)

Sat, July 16th.

There's nothing quite like waking up to a rainstorm. Immediately knew I wanted to listen to Simon Farintosh's album Aphex Twin for Guitar. Threw these new Airpods in my ears, took a hit of kush, and just enjoying the morning before work.

Goals? Today? Mmm.. Ship these orders I got last night and get more. It's funny how I could care less when I'm making six+ sales in a day but the day it's dry is the day I'm honestly kind of sad. Yesterday was really good for sales & it made me feel good but then I got over it. It's like a drug where I'm fiending for sales and then once I get them I'm like... Yeah I like this, I'm totally normal. Then the day where it's not as good for sales is like "Somethings wrong with my brand, somethings wrong with the art, people hate it".

I really need to get better at handling my emotions lol. I guess that's why I created a series called Emotions. Speaking of that, I don't think I'll do a series like that ever again. I've noticed that my brand is not sticking to one identity and that might alienate potential customers. The goal should be to BE STRICTLY KABA. Most of the decks I sell are the Sad Squid and Happy Squid but it doesn't feel like me. The graphic is very simple and nothing points to the artist.

Frog Skateboards, that's a brand that knows who they are. I love their graphics so much. My goal should be to just stick to graphics that are Kaba. I mean, yeah I'm an artist and I like to experiment with art but where I'm at now... Kaba needs to be familiar in its graphics.

When I did inventory last week, I found a few warped decks. I think they warp because they ship from the coast and then they're just stuck in my dry ass room in Colorado. The wood gets confused and warps. I don't think actually, I know that's the case. Most decks are fine but there's the few that just can't stand being straight. (That sounds bad lol). Anyways, I listed the warped decks online, 100% clear in the fact that they're warped. I said they're $20 and they're warped. People started buying them.

Is that a good thing though? Should I sell product that is not perfect? I don't know but when I need to eat, I get desperate (I started doing this thing where I only buy food with money that Kaba earns). The rest of the money I make from my other jobs just goes into savings.
