Sat, September 3rd.
There is never enough time in the morning to enjoy yourself. Or perhaps it’s very close to the perfect amount of time. Regardless, it’s 6:30 AM and I’m in the studio listening to Daft Punk. In 2007, my brothers went to the Daft Punk show in Las Vegas. I remember being really upset with them because I wasn’t invited. That was in 6th grade haha. Nowadays, I still get a bit upset that I wasn’t invited. These guys are a huge inspiration for my brand and I wouldn’t be lying when I say that I’m hiding my face mostly because I’m inspired by these robots. Seriously, they’re genius’. One, they can live a private life still even though they’re beyond famous, and two, the helmets definitively helped them break out more. It’s just such an interesting idea. Surprised even more talents don’t go the same route.
A goal I have in mind is actually to get a new costume made while in Tokyo. If I could get a helmet that uses AC or something… genius! I would like to do more public appearances and give away skate decks in videos but I’m trying to minimize my appearance. For now, having different people to work with is good enough. Issei does a lot of work with Kaba, even though he’s also sponsored. Zach does quite a lot of good work too, not sure if he’s still trying to go by Harrison or not. He was the guy we hired for the LiT video. I met him through a music video connection actually. Funnily enough, I met Issei through an instagram hashtag.
I sent a bunch of packages yesterday and just got more orders today. It’s a good thing to get orders but seriously I hate packing stuff. I’m actually almost out of boxes… I have two left. I could either buy more boxes before I move or I could just not… boxes are expensive and they have a 25 minimum. I won’t get 25 orders this month. If I promoted the shit out of Kaba then maybe I could but I don’t have any money to spend on ads right now. The instagram community is good but I don’t see myself selling to them all at once. 2000 followers but only a handful buy stuff.
Actually, to test my sales strength, I’ll make a post saying we have 1 week to order before it’s closed. Let’s test some stuff.
