Hello, long time no chat. I've been living in Japan for a little over two years now? I can't say exactly. Time is kind of a blur anymore. Let's see; I've given up all my vices and picked up a few new ones. Caffeine is the latest vice to be added to my life, nicotine is the latest to leave my life. I'm struggling a bit with the nicotine.
Recently I've moved into a new apartment somewhere in Kawasaki (See you Tokyo, miss you often). The place is much larger than where I was before, I've got a spare bedroom now that I've converted into an art studio. It's from this room that I write to you. Currently listening to C418 Radio, specifically this song Subwoofer Lullaby. Funny; when I was in high school Minecraft had just been released (the beta) and I remember playing it with my friends from the Xbox 360 days. We'd all moved from the Xbox to the PC together and after Garry's Mod lost its edge we found this Minecraft game. Months were spent playing it and the soundtrack filled my teen bedroom with beautiful rhythm I still feel when I visit my parents place. I recently went back to the US for a brief stint to celebrate Christmas and see the family
No specifics into why I want to chat with you; just want to check in. It's been a very long time since I wrote on the blog. Let's see... I made some new artwork and posted it in the shop, feels good. I had someone order a skate deck last week and it put the wind in my sails so I got heavily inspired to reload this hobby of mine. Painting that is. It's strange, I still paint quite a lot but I don't show it off to you all like I did when I lived in America. Being here in Japan I've kind of just found the beauty of painting for myself and that's enough. I haven't wanted to sell my stuff or push it. It's only from this strange mysterious, and I will say BIG order that someone made did I realize I should get back out there.
I hope you're well, I hope you're strong, and I hope you're eating good food. Let's chat soon and please tell me what books you've been reading.
Cheers, Kaba.
