Aphex Twin - Stone in Focus (Ten hours)

Sun, July 24th.

With ten hours of nonstop track #19 you'll be able to get a lot of work done.

Goals for the day? Not sure. Wrote a paper for school last night, sent about six orders out the day before, and now I'm just at this house up in the valley and watching some animals. Again with the house sitting, I'm telling you... It's a good job to have.

I wish I had some content to post on Instagram. Maybe I'll take a photo of some skate decks up here or even some photos of tees. Problem is I don't have a model to wear the shirts. Work around? Not really. Content, content, content.

Sorry I've been away the last two days. I wanted to write on both days but I had been so busy writing that paper for school that I was honestly kind of tired of typing. No excuses though.

I started reading a new book that I'll hopefully connect with. It's called Real Artists Don't Starve by Jeff Goins. It's like a self-help book but for artists I suppose. It talks about how Michelangelo and other great artists were actually good with their money, and they thrived off being artists rather than just surviving. That's the goal after all! The book was $10 on Amazon and it's definitely worth adding to your collection, sending to a friend, or just having around. I like the concept and I'm sure there are pieces of info in that book I'll carry for the rest of my life.

LoCo Skate Shop sent me photos of the new pants they started making. A collaboration between Loco and Kaba! They asked to use my Skeleboy design so I figured it would be a good opportunity. Notice when I said MY Skeleboy design. I created it, it's my design, and it's going to be my bread and butter. I swear it'll be the hot ticket item that starts my career.

Another note about this Real Artists Don't Starve book is how it's easy to read. Just writing this blog post, I've thought about quotes in that book that I'll already use. One for example is talking about how great artists aren't 100% but they kind of steal from other artists and culture. I want to paint some canvas a solid color and then draw the Skeleboy design on it. Something so simple, I'm getting inspired by artists like Kaws or Damien Hurst with the simplicity idea.

If I did that solid color/skeleboy drawing on some skate decks that would be nice looking as well. Maybe while I'm up here I can paint over some Emotions decks. I'll call the series Skeleboys because that's literally all it is. Just my Skeleboy design on skate decks. I've been selling the shirts online for about $8-10... Maybe I should sell these decks for like $40? Still not sure how to price my work.
